The RRI will be presented during a spotlight session at the Global Refugee Forum titled ‘Improving Refugee Response through Evidence’. The session will be held on Monday 16 December, 11.30-13.00 CET at the Palais des Nations, Geneva (Room XXII). For those who cannot attend the GRF, there will be a Webex connection (details below).
The purpose of the session is to emphasise the importance of data in refugee response and provide good examples of work on global standards and improved socioeconomic analysis to support national governments in their refugee response. The session will also explore the importance of data in monitoring and accountability for the successful implementation of the Global Compact.
The session is co-organised by: the World Bank-UNHCR Joint Data Center on Forced Displacement; the Expert Group on Refugee and IDP Statistics (Turkstat, Statistics Norway, UNSD, UNHCR, World Bank, Eurostat and the Joint IDP Profiling Service); and the Refugee Response Index (DARA and Danish Refugee Council with support from the European Commission/DG DEVCO).
